Home to around 140 species of amphibians, Sri Lanka is truly an epicenter of these animals. Spreaded all over the island in an extensive diverse range, about 110 of these creatures are endemic to the country shaped in all sorts of ways, sizes and intriguing colours,
We have found out that a few out of these precious animals are residing at the surrounding area of The Woods and we are doing our best to protect and keep them safe in their natural habitat.
Spending a night at The Woods will fill your ears with the melodical mating calls sung by the male amphibians at night. Each sound is different to another and some might even sound similar to a bird, an ambulance or even an owl.
